With a solid line-up of weekly classes and special guest divisions, Central Ontario motorsports fans are looking forward to the 2024 schedule and Making Memories for Life at Peterborough Speedway.

Action kicks-off with the Pure Country 105 Season Opener – featuring free spectator grandstand admission – Saturday, May 18^th. The green flag flies at 5:00 on a line-up that includes Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, SwitchTire Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Jiffy Lube Super Stock and KOD Disposal Late Model racing, plus the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series, with a Fan Appreciation driver autograph session at intermission.

"The long hours and hard work of the off-season come to fruition when we unlock the gates on opening night," said Peterborough Speedway track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. "We're looking forward to a strong season of action and can't wait to get everything started for our 2024 campaign."

With a legacy spanning close to 60 consecutive years of weekly operation, it is ironic that one of the most popular divisions at the venue known as Canada's Toughest 3^rd Mile is also one of its newest. Since its inception just over 2 years ago, the Kingsway Auto Centre Junior Late Model class continues to grow.

In 2023, a stellar field showed their stuff throughout the regular season and during the annual Autumn Colours Classic showcase. Lucas Cousineau scored the point championship in the Pro Junior Late Model ranks, while Avery Kirkpatrick took the Junior Late Model crown. In total, nearly 25 different racers made at least one start in the class during the year. With 9 appearances on the schedule for the upcoming campaign and new drivers expected to join the fray, it is expected that fans will continue to cheer on these talented young drivers.

Bullring bullet points: In response to numerous inquiries, track staff has announced dates for a pair of pre-season open test sessions. The first will be Saturday, May 11^th from 11:00 'til 4:00. Teams can also put their equipment through its paces Thursday, May 16^th from 4:00 'til dusk. Admission for either practice session will be $25.00 for car and driver. $15.00 per crew member.

Promo Team Continues to Build the Peterborough Speedway Brand

Local racetrack operators never stop working toward the goal of giving fans the best show for their family entertainment dollar. Shortly after introducing a new design for their www.peterboroughspeedway.com website, the popular Central Ontario oval's promotional team is happy to announce that they will once again have cars on display at Lindsay Square.

From April 28^th to May 5^th, fans will have the opportunity to pick-up a copy of the track's weekly event schedule and see the 2024 rides of 3^rd generation KOD Disposal Late Model runner Jacob Mercer and the unveiling of the No. 99 of Kingsway Auto Centre Junior Late Model rookie of the year hopeful, 11-year-old former go karter Brody Coates. The No. 38 Mini Stock of Carol 'Duckie' Dawson – who finished 6^th in last year's point standings – will also be part of the show. Peterborough Speedway owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse days having cars at the mall is a tradition that has been part of the speedway's publicity itinerary for several decades, spanning multiple generations.

"We're thankful to the team at Lindsay Square for welcoming the race teams and our fans for this pre-season event once again this year," explained Josiasse. "Shows like this are an excellent marketing opportunity for racers, the track and the sport of local weekly auto racing."

Everything is getting closer and fans are counting the days 'til the 2024 season opener Saturday, May 18^th and looking forward to getting another year of local racing underway and taking another step toward 'Making Memories for Life'. The Pure Country 105 Season Opener offers free spectator grandstand admission and a complete program with 5 home track divisions, plus the Ontario Legend Car Series. Grandstand gates open at 3:00, with the first green flag of the schedule at 5:00.

BURBANK, CA (APRIL 11, 2024) – The CW Network today announced it will be the exclusive broadcast home for the final eight races of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series this fall. Live coverage begins on Friday, September 20 with the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The series continues through the fall with the final seven Xfinity Playoff races of the season, culminating in the Xfinity Series Championship from Phoenix Raceway on Saturday, November 9. All of the races will be produced by NBC Sports, with Rick Allen serving as lead race announcer alongside analysts Jeff Burton and Steve Letarte, and NBC Sports' Vice President of Motorsports Jeff Behnke overseeing production.

Peterborough Speedway Welcomes 2024 Season with New Website Design

A new season of exciting race action at Peterborough Speedway is less than a couple of months away and officials are celebrating with a brand-new look for the track's website, www.peterboroughspeedway.com.

"After a lot of work with layout, design ideas, revisions and adjustments, we are happy to have a fresh look to our website which went live earlier in the week," said J.P. Josiasse, Peterborough Speedway track owner and promoter. "We're encouraging everyone to see the new race weekend details and information on the package we've put together."

Josiasse says one of the biggest benefits in the new layout is that it is mobile friendly and allows fans and racers alike the opportunity to fill-out forms online, as well as with a mobile device. The interactive section provides the chance to buy event passes, search for raceday schedules and find the latest news and information.

There is a link the Peterborough Speedway YouTube Channel with access to the video features that proved to be so popular in past seasons, with details on the Driving School and a tab for track merchandise, including hats, t-shirts and hoodies to highlight your support of the local Central Ontario facility.

"Like any website redesign, we're excited to have our fans and friends take some time to get familiar with the new look and see the features of the fresh layout," explained Josiasse. "The fan and track info tabs will provide everything you'll need to plan a night at the track, including season pass info, venue history and answers to some of the frequently asked raceday questions."

Inaugural Ontario Legend Car Series Schedule is Ready to Roll

Even though the name has changed, fans will still see the same brand of motorsports excitement when the 2024 schedule for the Ontario Legend Car Series takes the green flag.

With long-time provincial Legend Car official and former competitor Robin Jongen at the helm, racers and car owners alike are looking forward to this year's lid-lifter. It has been a busy time of action behind the scenes and Jongen says the team he's assembled will be set to put a fresh face on the Legend Car racing brand.

"I'm incredibly grateful to Kevin Foisy for providing me with the opportunity to run a series I love and to keep expanding on my ideas," explained Robin Jongen. "Anyone who knows me knows how passionate I am about Legends Racing and can't wait to get the ball rolling. I've been working with our track partners to put together a schedule that will excite every Legends Racer in the province."

As in seasons past, the first year of the Ontario Legend Car Series will see the group showcased as part of regular season dates at several area ovals, including Sunset Speedway – north of Toronto – on a handful of occasions and 6 shows at Peterborough Speedway, including the 31^st running of the APC Autumn Colours Classic. The group will also partner with the Great Lakes Legends for dates at Full Throttle, Sauble and Flamboro Speedways, as well as one of the Sunset dates and Autumn Colours at Peterborough.

Headline Events Complete the 2024 Brockville Speedway Schedule

With the arrival of 2024, Brockville Ontario Speedway track officials and promotional partners are putting the finishing touches on the upcoming schedule at popular oval on Temperance Lake Road.

Following an open practice and tech inspection from 1:00 'til 4:00 a week earlier, the kick-off for the new calendar at 'The BOS' is Saturday, May 11^th with the DIRTcar 358 Mods, Sportsman-Modifieds, Novice Sportsman and Surprenant 602 Crate Sprint Cars taking centre stage. Details are still being added to the overall season line-up as Brockville Speedway staff puts things into place for another exciting year.

Local race fans are looking forward to the new season as it brings along the Saturday, May 18^th and July 6^th return of the Ogilvie's Auto & Fleet Service Triple Crown Series for Small Block and Sportsman teams. Also back on the agenda will be a pair of dates – Saturday, June 22^nd and August 3^rd – for the Empire Super Sprint Car Series. The Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds will be back at Brockville Ontario Speedway – Wednesday, July 24^th – for the 2^nd running of the 75-lap, $7,500 to win Canadian Classic. As was the case last year, the mid-week marquee showdown will once again be the tour's only Ontario stop.

"It's all about building on the overall strengths of the operation," said track owner Paul Kirkland, who along with his wife Cheryl will begin their 3^rd decade at the promotional helm of Southeastern Ontario venue. "We'll be marking the monumental occasion with a $30,000 point fund for the 2024 season and looking to create some extra-special memories on both sides of the fence."

Also on the docket for the new season will be the home track Street Stock and Mini Stock divisions, as well as the Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club. Full details will be available once the complete schedule has been finalized by track officials, marketing partners and touring division sanctioning bodies.

New ‘Lease’ on Life: Airborne Park Releases 2024 Season Schedule

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.—Airborne Park Speedway's 70^th season schedule is here, and it is jam-packed with huge events. The lightning-fast half-mile will host plenty of thunder in 2024, with a Thursday night schedule base, and some big events to kick off a brand-new era in north country racing.

The season will begin on Sunday, April 28^th, with the 40-lap, $4,000-to-win Leon Gonyo memorial race for the Be Cool Air Conditioning 358 Modifieds. In May, the points season begins for the J&S Steel Sportsman Modifieds with the first Thursday night show on May 2^nd. The Short Track Super Series makes their first stop at Airborne Park on Thursday, the 30^th for the 70-lap "Adirondack Invasion," paying $7,070 to win.

In June, The Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modifieds will make a stop at Airborne Park on Saturday, June 15^th in a show that will also feature the pro stocks and mod lights. June is a huge month that also brings kids' rides, Mid-Season Championships, driver autographs and topless night.

July features a Wednesday night race, a special "Firecracker 44," paying $2,000 for the Sportsman on July 3^rd. Thursday, July 25^th brings the brand-new American Racer Tire North Series for the 358 modifieds with a 60-lap race paying $3,000-to-win.

In another historic first, fans will see the first Sprint Cars of New England series race at Airborne Park on Saturday, August 10^th. August also features a Vermont 200 qualifier on the 22^nd, and the kids' backpack giveaway on the 29^th.

September closes out the season with 358 modified championship night on Thursday, September 19^th, and for the Sportsman, Renegades and Mini Stocks on the 28^th. A 100-lap, $5,000-to-win sportsman show will follow on Sunday the 29^th to cap off the 70^th season.

Weekly Racers Go the Distance in 2024 at Peterborough Speedway

Main events are the featured attraction during the 2024 schedule at Peterborough Speedway.

Promotional staff is expecting some strong car counts across the board during this year's line-up, with new names and familiar faces showing their stuff throughout the year. Track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says the home track runners will once again take their turn in the Saturday night spotlight.

"Our Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock field will have a 50-lap invitational Saturday, July 6^th," Josiasse said. "The SwitchTire by Jiffy Lube Mini Stock teams will hit the track Saturday, August 10^th for a 50-lap headliner which should also bring some invaders to Central Ontario to challenge the weekend racing regulars."

Josiasse is also quick to point out the success of local Jiffy Lube Super Stock teams when it comes to defending home turf against the touring stars on the Qwick Wick Firestarter Series. Crowd favourite Marlie Owen logged a 7^th place finish in 2023, while Brandon Feeney was 10^th and Owen 13^th a year earlier. Marlie wheeled her No. 21 machine to a 17^th place finish in 2021. This year's edition – a combined show with the APC Late Models – is scheduled for Saturday, June 15^th. 2023 track champion Ryan Kimball finished 9^th in last year's 100-lap feature tilt, while Jacob Mercer was 19^th in his first career series start. A season earlier, Kimball scored a 6^th place finish.

Before the Saturday, May 18^th first green flag of the new calendar with the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, SwitchTire Mini Stock, Renegade Truck, Jiffy Lube Super Stock and KOD Disposal Late Model divisions, plus the Peterborough Speedway debut of the Ontario Legend Car Series, fans will have the chance to meet track staff and pick-up an official copy of the 2024 schedule during this year's edition of the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo, presented by eBay Motors – March 8^th through 10^th – at the International Centre. Peterborough Speedway personnel is also looking at once again displaying cars at the Lindsay Square Mall, with dates and times to be announced.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 16, 2024) – An international phenomenon, the 66th running of the DAYTONA 500 (Sunday, Feb. 18) will be broadcast to fans in more than 185 countries and territories, reaching over 550 million households worldwide.

Notably, the full NASCAR Cup Series season will air free in New Zealand via new partner Three Now, so fans can watch countryman Shan Van Gisbergen, the winner of the inaugural Chicago Street Race. India (Eurosport), Japan (Gaora Sports – DAYTONA 500 only), and Greece (Antenna) join the group of countries and territories broadcasting NASCAR in 2024. New international partners include DAZN in Spain, and Billibili in China, which joins alongside incumbent HUYA.

Additionally, for the first time, fans in Canada and Brazil will have extended viewing options for the DAYTONA 500 via incremental free-to-air coverage with existing partners in Canada and Brazill. CTV will simulcast the race alongside TSN in Canada, while fans in Brazil can watch live on Canal 21 in addition to BandPlay.

Championship Celebration Concludes Peterborough Speedway's 2023 Season

Drivers, teams, family members and friends gathered Saturday, January 20^th at the Ennismore Arena to recognise the successful 2023 season at Peterborough Speedway.

The evening's activities opened with track owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse thanking those in attendance for a great season of racing and recognising the help of his parents and Mark, from the raceday food service team in putting together the night's meal and acknowledging the participation of the track's sponsors and support personnel who make the weekly programs successful year after year. He also gave thanks to the racers, crew members and teams who continue to make Peterborough Speedway a valuable component in the provincial motorsport's community.

Presentations were made to racers in the track's weekly divisions, starting with the best appearing car awards in memory of former photographer and good friend Jo Ann Blais. The Bone Stock honours went to Tegan Stanley, with Nolan Gould taking the Mini Stock accolades. Best appearing Super Stock was Paul Boundy. Stacy Switzer was voted driver of the best appearing Renegade Truck, with Ryan Kimball and Kaiden Beatty named recipients in the Late Model and Junior Late Model divisions respectively. The Most Sportsmanlike Driver Awards – voted by their peers – went to John Bates and Rob Crick in the Bone Stock and Mini Stock divisions, with Paul Boundy and Chad Strawn taking the same honours in the Super Stock and Renegade Truck fields. In memory of Terry Calvert, Sean Walker was voted the Most Sportsmanlike Late Model runner, with Lyla Simka named the Most Sportsmanlike Jr. Late Model racer.

2023 Rookie of the Year Awards went to Tyler McMurter and Daniel Montanari in the Mini Stock and Late Model divisions, with Lucas Cousineau and James Amos the top first-year racers in the Junior Late Models and Bone Stock fields. Tyler McMurter took the award for Most Improved driver in the Mini Stocks, along with Christen Lavalle in the Bone Stocks. Super Stock racer Donovan Price and Renegade Truck runner Jordan Desroches took the Most Improved Driver awards in their respective divisions. Gary Hannah and Avery Kirkpatrick were named Most Improved Drivers in the Late Model and Jr. Late Model classes.

Following their participation in the 2024 edition of the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo – March 8^th through 10^th – at the International Centre and other upcoming regional events, Peterborough Speedway will kick-off the new season of action with the Pure Country 105 Season Opener – featuring free spectator grandstand admission – Saturday, May 18^th.

Tyler McMurter (No. 46) took the honours for SwitchTire Mini Stock Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Driver at the recent 2023 Peterborough Speedway awards banquet.

The ride of Paul Boundy (No. 08) took the award as Best Appearing Jiffy Lube Super Stock at the celebration of Peterborough Speedway's 2023 season.

Accolades for the Most Sportsmanlike Kingsway Auto Centre Junior Late Model racer went to Lyla Sikma (No. 20) during the annual Peterborough Speedway awards presentation.

Gary Hannah (No. 03) was the named the Most Improved KOD Disposal Late Model runner during the 2023 Peterborough Speedway championship celebration.

NASCAR Announces Launch of NASCAR Regional

Daytona Beach, Fla. (Feb. 5, 2024) – NASCAR officially announced the launch of the NASCAR Regional brand and platform, which encompasses the touring and weekly series of NASCAR – the ARCA Menards Series, ARCA Menards Series East, ARCA Menards Series West, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. NASCAR Regional debuted on Saturday during the season-opening Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum via a national television spot on FS1.

Formerly NASCAR Roots, the NASCAR Regional brand and platform will better position the sport to grow awareness around those series. In addition, the rebrand ushers in a more organized and recognizable platform that provides concise sightlines of a 'ladder system' from beginning to end.

"NASCAR stands on a foundation built by local short tracks and our touring series, and we couldn't be more excited to launch the NASCAR Regional brand and platform to highlight these important series," said Ben Kennedy, Sr. Vice President Racing Development & Strategy. "Their history runs deep, and the continued growth of these series is vital to NASCAR's success. This update better positions NASCAR to grow awareness around these series for many years to come."

In addition to the announcement, a new website is available at NASCAR.com/Regional with the latest news, ticket information and schedules for the upcoming 2024 season.

NASCAR Regional action begins with the Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series at New Smyrna Speedway with the World Series of Asphalt from February 9-17. Then on Saturday, February 10, Late Model Stock cars will compete at Florence Motor Speedway in The Icebreaker at 2:30 p.m. ET, and later that evening the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour starts their engines at New Smyrna Speedway with the New Smyrna Beach Visitors Bureau 200 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Tune-in to Flo Racing for live coverage of all the events. A week later the ARCA Menards Series gets underway with the ARCA 200 at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, February 17 at 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1. Heading Into the Next Season of Action at Peterborough Speedway

All is quiet at the tight, tricky oval on Mount Pleasant Road right now, but there is plenty of action going on behind the scenes as Peterborough Speedway gets ready for the 2024 season.

Track officials have all but put the finishing touches on the schedule that will kick-off Saturday, May 18^th with the annual Pure Country 105 Season Opener. Venue owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says he's confident that the new line-up will have plenty to fans of the hometown favourites and special guest divisions.

"Everyone looks forward to the first show of the year," said J.P. Josiasse. "Fans are anxious to see what they've been missing since the final checkered flag of the Autumn Colours Classic, while racers are pumped-up about the chance to put their equipment through its paces and get the season off to a roaring start."

With staff dialing-in 2024 dates on the local front, representatives with the province's touring series have added special events to the upcoming agenda:
